India, members of the Indian community.
It
is my honour to welcome one and all to the Indian Community Reception
being organized in honour of His Excellency President of India on the
occasion of his State Visit to Guinea Conakry. At the outset allow me to
convey the gratitude of the Indian Community to the Hon'ble President
for choosing to visit Guinea. Excellency, we are deeply honoured for
providing us with this opportunity to welcome you and your high level
delegation. Please accept our warmest greeting.
The
Community in Guinea though small in number is vibrant and has shown
their commendable presence in almost all spheres of activity in this
country. In fact Hotel Sheraton Grand is a shining example of how well
Indian community are doing. We have a significant number of
entrepreneurs, investors, successful traders and qualified
professionals, contributing to the development of virtually in every
sector of the Guinean economy. The Indian community contributions have
been duly recognized by the people and government of Guinea.
The
community also forms the bedrock of people-to-people contacts and
business contacts in India-Guinea interactions thus contributing further
in cementing our bilateral relations. I am confident that your State
Visit would go a long way in furthering these contacts between India and
Guinea.
Excellency,
we are deeply honoured that you agreed to share your vision on
furthering India’s relations with Guinea & the region. Your visit,
the first ever by an Indian President, indeed is a landmark in the
process of deepening our cooperation in economic and political relations
that has been unfolding over the past few years.
With
these few words I would like to request the Hon’ble Rashtrapratiji to
enlighten us with his wise and reflective thoughts to which all of us
eagerly look forward.
