BHARAT KO JANIYE ONLINE QUIZ (Now open for foreign nationals as well)

Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India has launched 2nd edition of Bharat Ko Janiye (BKJ) (Know India) Quiz 2018-19 to be conducted in all the Indian Missions/Posts abroad where participation of more than 100,000 Indian youth is expected. It is heartening that you have registered yourself in BKJ portal already.

2.        Although you are well-conversant of the the salient features of the BKJ Quiz, nonetheless,I would like to give a brief overview along with some later developments.

The Quiz will be conducted in 4 rounds. The first round will be conducted locally at the Embassy or Consulate office. It will be held online for two distinct categories of PIO & NRI aged 15 to 35 years (as on 01st January 2019). Now it has been extended to foreigners too. A portal https://bharatkojaniye.in/ has been made operational. The site features following information:

 3.      The participants need to register themselves at portal www.bharatkojaniye.in in order to participate in the online quiz. The last date of registration on BKJ portal is 15th October, 2018. Each participant is required to generate a unique user name and password by registering online at the portal. There is no entry fee for participation in the Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz.

4.       In the first round there will be 30 questions to be selected randomly by the computer to be answered in 25 minutes. There is no negative marking. The Quiz contest is scheduled to be held during 3rd-4th week of September, 2018  when the site will remain open for the contestants. The top three contenders/participants from each category of NRI and PIO of the first round will be eligible for the second round, and will be given medals by the Embassy.

4.       The second, third and fourth rounds of the Quiz will be conducted by the Ministry of External Affairs. The second online round will have 60 questions to be answered in a single session of 60 minutes. Top 10 finalists from each category of NRI and PIO will be shortlisted on the basis of scores secured and time taken to complete the 2nd round. They will be invited to India for a 15-day Bharat Ko Janiye Yatra including a visit to Lakshadweep Union Territory and to participate in the third round. Government of India will bear international airfare and all expenses including board and lodging. They will visit Delhi, Agra and one State for familiarization. They will visit any University, College or Institute, Industries and village. They will also undergo one-day orientation programmed in Foreign Service Institute, New Delhi. They will be accommodated in 4 star hotels on twin sharing basis, provided local transportation by AC Vehicle and will also participate in Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

5.       Third and Fourth rounds will be conducted in India by the Ministry of External Affairs. From the third round, top 3 candidates will be selected to participate in the final/fourth round. Top three winners of the final round of the BKJ Quiz 2019 from each category of NRI & PIO will receive Gold, Silver and Bronze medals and a Certificate at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention, 2019.
